Purpose:  To positively impact our neighborhood and community by investing in the continued education of two graduating Tahitian Village seniors.
Tahitian Village Property Owners’ Association (POA) and Architectural Control Committee (ACC) together will award a:

  1. $2,000 scholarship to a graduating high school senior planning to attend a college/university
  2. $2,000 scholarship to a graduating high school senior planning to attend a trade/vocational school.

(If there are no applicants for a trade/vocational school scholarship, two college/university scholarships will be awarded.)

Guidelines:

  • The student MUST currently reside in Tahitian Village.
  • Only complete applications will be considered.
  • All information should be typed or neatly printed.
  • Applications MUST be submitted by (April 4th) by 4:00 pm to the Tahitian Village Property Owners’ Association office located at 112 Corporate Dr. Bastrop, TX. (Our office is in the northeast corner of the BCWCID building.) NO exceptions and NO late submissions will be allowed.
  • Certificates for the scholarships will be issued:
    • June 2, 2025 -ACC
    • June 17, 2025 -POA
    • July 7, 2025 -ACC
    • July 15, 2025 -POA
  • Attendance on one of the four listed meeting dates is required, and recipients must agree to have their photo taken and shared in the Pine Post. 
  • Scholarship checks will be issued upon receipt of proof of payment from the recipient.  
  • We will accept receipts for tuition, school supplies, or housing as proof of payment. 
  • The proof of payment must be received within the first three months of the tuition period immediately after receipt of the scholarship certificate. 
  • The scholarship offer is only valid for the school year after the recipient’s high school graduation. 
  • The decision of the scholarship committee is final and cannot be reviewed or challenged.
  • Applications and guidelines are available on our website (tahitianvillage.org) or available in the Tahitian Village POA Office.

Scholarship Criteria/Checklist:

  1. Completed application (typed or neatly printed)
  2. Recommendation letter from school counselor, teacher, coach or employer
  3. Proof of enrollment from the college, university, trade or vocational school the student will be attending
  4. Unofficial H.S. transcript including the most recent semester completed or a G.E.D.
  5. Extracurricular list which includes any extracurricular activities, jobs, or volunteer activities done during the applicant’s high school career.
  6. Complete a 500-word essay from the following prompt: Explain how your chosen career or field of study could potentially impact Tahitian Village or any other community in which you may live.
  7. Please do not include your name on anything except the application.  Staff will block out your name from the recommendation letter to keep applications anonymous during the judging process.
